So much has happened in the year 2020 and 2021. Life is not the same, but things are moving on. My shelter work didn't stop even for a day. I am very grateful to my staff who stood by and kept helping out even when the situation was not good. Even though I am trying my best to keep going, my finances are pulling me down drastically. My organization is under severe financial crunch again and I have funds left only till the end of this year. As I had informed everyone in my previous mails, my shelter doesn't have a big corpus on which I can rely on. I can, at the most, foresee the existence of my shelter for 6 months. And now, not even that. I would be highly grateful to you all if you can help me foresee the existence of my shelter for the next year also. I have around 400 strays in my shelter to look after on top of the 20-30 helpline calls we receive everyday!! Salaries of our shelter employees, bills, medicines, food - all this costs a lot and I don't get any help from the government. I completely rely on compassionate people like YOU to help me out. Please help my shelter and my strays by donating a small amount.
Some of my shelter's recurring sources of donation have also stopped. The municipal corporation in my locality had to give some amount to us for large animals which they bring to us, on a regular basis, for upkeep and treatment and also for sterilization programs we are conducting on their behalf, but they have failed to give us any amount for almost 2 years, always saying they don't have funds currently. Our funds are blocked there, or maybe we will never receive, I don't know yet. The onus of everything is falling on my shoulders - to cater to ever expanding scope of work and also finances. I have reached my limits. I don't know what to do except stand humbly in front of you animal lovers, with folded hands, to please help me out. This is a desperate cry for help. I know if the financial crunch worsens, I will have to stop the helpline (which I would never like to do), but what about the animals in the shelter? I know many people are themselves going through their own financial crisis and it is difficult for everyone to donate. In case any of you is capable of donating whatever is feasible, please DO HELP OUT MY SHELTER AND MY FURRIES
